BASELBIETER CONCERTS / Guitarist Christoph Denoth played mostly Spanish compositions.

At the first (concert), guitarist Christoph Denoth, a native of Basel [...] was a guest at St Arbogast’s. Commensurate with his broad repertoire, Denoth presented a highly varied programme that included a composition written by Johann Sebastian Bach equally as well as a work by Lorenzo Palomo. […]
Denoth interpreted the work originally composed for the violoncello in a well-crafted and filigree manner. […]
Denoth’s fingers presented the variations in moods that were light as quicksilver, cheekily bold, or melancholically contemplative. […]
The guitarist [...] fired the audience with enthusiasm with facets of feelings ranging from contented gravitas to exuberant merriment to melancholic sadness […] and abducted the public on this rainy autumn day to the warm and sunny Iberian Peninsula. To conclude, Christoph Denoth had a special titbit in store: the première of Lorenzo Palomo’s «Apuntes de mi tierra». […]  (and) «Luna de alta mar». Here, too, Denoth showed his great virtuosity, for it seemed as if the waves of the sea would directly flow into the church aisle, so vividly the musician described the hushed surf, but also the stormy wash of the waves.
